@TechConnectify regarding the power and temperature controls, we have the non-wok version with buttons instead of knobs. We think of the power control as “speed”, or how fast it responds. I love the temperature setting but wish it had finer grain settings around 212F… We leave the power on 1500 except for simmering sauces, when we typically use 600.
@Ralph058 @cassey I’m not sure that 80% number has moved in decades :-) the vast majority of people have always thought they were better drivers than reality, even as far back as the late 1970’s when I learned to drive. I don’t know if drivers have objectively gotten much worse in the past 10 years or whether it is just my perception. And I am not talking about aggressive driving (which typically is done by people with above average driving skills), but a lack of what I am going to call common sense driving. Distracted driving is way up. Drivers paying much less attention to the traffic and environment around them, including adjacent vehicles. I was taught to drive defensively and be prepared for the unexpected, that does not seem to be a skill taught today.
@Ralph058 @cassey. I used to be opposed to automated cars, due to, well, lots of reasons. But in the past decade I have watched the quality of driving, at least in my corner of the world, the NE US, decline to the point where I think having more fully autonomous cars on the road would make it safer. The reasons I opposed them have not gone away, it is just the balance (pro vs con) has shifted. I am not so stubborn to not change my mind.
@cassey Since over 90% of accidents are caused by HUMAN error. I'd feel more comfortable with driverless cars (when it comes to cars).
I personally can't wait until Level 4 automation is regularly available. There are six levels. Most advanced driver assistance systems available right now are at Level 2 (including Musk's so called full self driving)
There are a few at Level 3.
Once you ride in a Level 4 or Level 5, you will likely change your mind.
Once you are old enough that being old affects your driving, you will prefer it.

Those who passed the highest-level exam got their names engraved onto these stone steles

(This makes my alma mater’s recent initiative to put diplomas on the blockchain EVEN LAMER by comparison.)

It sure would be nice if FedEx would actually try to deliver my packages, instead of just driving by and claiming no one is home.

I don't know who among my followers and friends has heard of the "A Better Way 2A" podcast. If you like guns but hate the gun industry and most of what is called the "mainstream gun community" then ABW2A may be up your alley.

More info on their web site here...

I mention them because Andrew and Jordan had me on their podcast and the episode is allegedly due to drop on Friday the 14th, I think!

(We spend maybe about 10% of the time talking about guns, the rest is all chatter about LGBTQ rights, decriminalizing sex work, hacker shit, and more. Enjoy!)

Gun Culture The Way It Should Be | A Better Way 2A

A Better Way 2A is a gun rights advocacy organization that promotes a diverse gun community made up of different races, gender identities, political ideologies and backgrounds. We sell 2A apparel and accessories, where a portion of the proceeds go to various nonprofits. Gun rights are human rights!

i like how "illegal in the EU" means it probably violated a human right and "illegal in florida" means it probably is a human right
Apparenty, David Tennant wore an enby pin and a t-shirt reading "leave trans kids alone you absolute freaks" for the official Good Omens 2 press photos.
