worst resistance i've seen so far is 6 ohms. and that is from a lightning cable from this obscure little company called, idk, "apple computers"? i think they're californian or something
so i have a neat usb cable tester now. two questions:
1) should i get a label maker and start labelling some cables with their stats where non-obvious
2) should i make a hall of shame of cables i have that are frankly silly or overtly evil (e.g. usb A to A cables, data only cables, cables with bizarrely high value resistance?)
Incidentally this is the neat thing about having a large and growing protest movement: it is directly addressing that problem, even if some people miss that
I really hate how much of American politics comes down to, not, “what must be done”, but “how do you drag political leadership kicking and screaming into even acknowledging the scope of the problem we face”

a fun thing you learn about reading NTSB crash reports is that there are many fatal plane crashes caused by pilots who became so automation-reliant that they forgot how to actually, like, fly the plane

this is a post about genai

remember, friends: if you hurt and could eat, you probably should eat.
it might not make you stop hurting but at least then you'll be fed
i wonder if it would be possible to get something to regulate your carbamazepine levels, cuz who knows maybe i ate something with a metabolic interaction
for those who’ve missed the drama, i have trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic pain condition wherein i have excruciating pain on my face that can be triggered by the slightest thing. it’s sometimes considered the very worst chronic pain you can have!
anyways most days it’s managed to a tolerable degree by high doses of anticonvulsants, but today… nope! ow.
i swear i didn't forget my meds, but it feels like i'm having a bad trigeminal neuralgia day today anyways
you need to be at least this capable of analytic thought to be trusted with speculative fiction
