The names of 72 female scientists are soon to be inscribed on the Eiffel Tower in a gesture to promote gender equality.
For the first time since 1889, the City of Paris is honouring great scientists by inscribing the names of these 72 women on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, alongside the 72 scientists originally chosen by Gustave Eiffel, who were all men.
