Great news from Phoenix FM!

We’ve been awarded £11,000 to deliver Essex Voices: Stories from Our Communities — a creative radio and podcast project empowering local people across Essex to share their own stories on air.

From free workshops to broadcasts and community listening events, this project is all about connection, inclusion and celebrating local life.

Launching April 2026 🎙️

Very pleased to announce that from today we have extended our DAB coverage to cover Harlow, Epping and west Hertfordshire - our terrestrial DAB/FM signals now covering over 3.5m people!

We're pleased to announce that we've been given the green light to expand our terrestrial broadcast area, and that you can now hear us from DAB from Southend to Stratford as well as 98.0FM in Brentwood and Billericay.

We're still based in Brentwood but our presenters can now reach THREE MILLION people instead of 200,000!

Did you see our albums and tracks of the year in this week's Brentwood Gazette?

After many, many long years on air we finally introduced the Phoenix FM chart this year.

Congratulations to Cliffords, Alex Hopkins, Karis Taylor, Bugeye and Sophie Griffiths who all made it into the Chart of the Year! (And also into our column in the Brentwood Gazette)

Forgot to mention but 2 days ago it was the 29th anniversary of our first day on FM! We launched as a group in August 1996 and we got a 28 days FM licence to broadcast a "trial service" on 107FM. Here's our poster, which was not designed by AI at all
Don't forget to put your clocks back one hour tonight!
Happy birthday to us! We started plotting and planning our new radio station on 31 August 1996 - and we're still going strong #communityradio
