So I'm on #insulin now and as of last week, I have been diagnosed as a #diabetic. I only received the insulin yesterday. An appointment with an #endocrinologist needs to be made though in order to figure out if it's Type 1/2 #diabetes.
This, of course, came as a huge shock to me and my #BGL levels have been incredibly high as of the past few weeks, if not months, since discovery.
My BGL has been ranging between 22-32+ mmol/L since finding it was so high all those weeks ago. But this could've been going on for months, and my #HBA1c is 11% for the past three months.
That equates to an average of 15+ mmol/L daily for BGL, my doctor told me. And the normal range for a healthy individual is 4-8 mmol/L.
Huge thanks to my friend, @hiddensoul, as well. He helped me get setup with how to inject my 10 units nightly at dinner time, while giving me a box of needles to use.
I tried desperately to get needles off my regular pharmacist, but the stubborn bastard would not give them to me. He probably thought I was a drug user or something.
