@jeelz Hey Giles! The tool (and others) still exists, I just moved it. Here's the current link with my little helpers, the DoVi XML to EDL among them, hope it helps:

@mrheist Thank you! I'd be happy for any kind of notice telling me, "hey, you just replaced a clip outside of the current view. Was this intentional?" πŸ˜…
@samvarma Ah I get it! I'd still prefer having some sort of notice that this happened but it beats silently "overwriting" a clip by far
@samvarma Ah so the affected clips get pushed up? That's better than them outright disappearing πŸ˜…

You know what would really be useful in #Premiere or #Resolve? Having a warning indicator when a clip you pull onto your timeline will overwrite/replace another that's outside the current view. Here, I made a mock-up.

Colorist quick tip when working Resolve: To retain any node cache status (auto/on/off) when copying a grade via middle-click:
1) Right click in the gallery pane
2) tick "Copy Grade: Copy All Node Layers"

Glad I finally figured this out! πŸ˜…

These images from the Creator Studio announcement perfectly illustrate the failure of Liquid Glass.

It doesn't get out of the way of your content β€” it INVADES your content.

This is an image editor! Yet HUGE regions of the image are invaded, blurred, and obscured by translucent UI, making both the image and the UI worse.

Low-contrast UI on blurry content doesn't clarify anything or get out of your way β€” it distorts the content AND the UI into an ugly, unusable slurry.

Oh, the joys of working between Christmas and New Year’s and sending out emails πŸ˜…

Hope you all had a great* 2025, can't wait for 2026!

* not too horrible

β€ͺLots of thing happening so I almost missed the North American release of Girl Climber which I graded. The low-light shots benefited from NeatVideo 6 and Topaz helped with reducing some highly compressed archival stuff.
