Here's a bit of good news: now rebranded 'Best Start' the Govt. is funding an additional 400 family hubs (bringing the total to around 1000 by 2028) that are doing the work that was undertaken by the Blair Govt.'s Sure Start programme.

Lets hope the funding is maintained as these support mechanisms (via the Family Hubs) have a good record of helping children escape poverty (not least by doing better at school).
