The Roman Walls of Lugo, in Galicia, northwestern Spain, were declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. They are about 2Km long stretching around the old town. They were built between 263 and 276 A.D. to defend the Roman town of Lucus Augusti (present-day Lugo) against invaders.
