I am trying to keep registrations open for the next big wave of Mastodon migration, which I believe is inevitable.
There are very few actual humans, willing to do some sustained harm - most of the malicious activity are bots. And we can track where they register and operate from. Ultimately, we can learn who is doing this shit and who pays for it...
Let's say that there is a payment for a subscription that fails, due to insufficient funds. I hate portals that make it impossible to just simply try again, even though you refill the account. But if you just add the same card again, it works.
Looking at you, @kagihq, but you are far from being the only ones...
(I do not have large sums on my internet-activated payment cards and that is very much on purpose.)

Today I was looking at the data that comes out of these tests and now I'm 100% positive that the heuristic is sound and a lot of the crashes we see are from users with bad memory or similarly flaky hardware.
