It was a week of intense learning, and I am genuinely proud of the whole DENIC team, who worked hard on every front — from the technical response to communications. We will draw many conclusions from what happened and come out stronger for it.
Special credit to the DENIC Marketing team, who organised the Jamboree with the same quality and engagement as if no crisis were happening.
The day the German internet ground to a halt.
This was supposed to be a post about the CENTR Jamboree in Berlin, hosted by DENIC. Instead, it's a post about the night the .de zone stopped resolving — and an event with two faces.
The event was unlike any CENTR Jamboree before, and one I hope won't be repeated any time soon. I had very little sleep — not because of great social events, but because of the amount of work in the crisis team.

In order to stop AI Slop in Domain Connect Templates I implemented a review step asking template providers to conduct a manual test and link test results in the PR description. README has beed optimized for AI agents with steps to follow and where the user has to be active.
This worked good, first few PRs arrived in good quality. 🎉
Now this one arrived... just imagine AI gave instruction to the user... but he/she just copy pasted it to PR. 🤡

Being a reviewer of public project starts to be very challenging.
AI tools produce crap, don't read or understand specifications, don't follow PR issue template instructions. That's ok, tools are not always perfect.
But if people then issue PR without even looking into them (both PR description and the content) then it is just wasting time and disrespectful IMHO. 🧵 1/2
