#Mastodon administration is no joke! So many settings and options. So many things I want to be totally sure of before I open it up. I wanted to allow people to donate if they want to help out with the costs (which are very small monthly, but I'd appreciate even $1. I've also tied in a Taoist discord server I help run into some of the perks of helping out. I'm going to have to start really small with a handful of people and then if I get enough people to help support it then we can expand.

Have you ever watched the tide coming in on a seashore?

You see a wave coming in, then it goes out again, then another comes in, then it goes out again. Each wave's starting point is a bit higher than before, and eventually the whole shore is covered in water.

That's how waves of new members are on Mastodon and the Fediverse. With each new wave, the base level of active members gets a bit higher.

#GoodMorning everyone! I've ventured into #mastodon hosting! I have an instance setup, running, and domain ready to go! Just getting the finishing touches and then I'll let you know. It's VERY small right now and will be focused on #taoism #taoist teachings and related philosophies (zen, Buddhism, etc).

I'd really like a server for #taoism but I just don't have the time (or money) to self host. I REALLY want a #taoist community instance. Quick someone donate like $100 a month! LOL.
