@Rairii Modchips are attached to the LPC bus, which was was originally meant to host legacy PC components like parallel, serial, floppy. IIRC some modchips add a serial port (0x3F8) there.

@G33KatWork @Rairii It’s been a while, but the leading theory back then (maybe we even had some evidence?) was that Microsoft required the drive makers to make the laser not support CD-R to make running copies harder. CD-RW was harder to exclude because the wavelength was too close to what was required for CD-ROM support, which they needed.

@jamesdempsey The indie tool "Exporter" converts your complete Notes database (or parts) into a folder of .md files. It does not require macOS 26, and also nicely exports tables as MarkDown inline tables (macOS 26 writes tables as .csv files, linked to by the .md).
