@calmonty I spoke to a woman at a hospital last week that was taking some blood. She said that she had voted for the NHS pay increase even though she would not get it. I was certainly not aware that it is just for doctors and nurses not otherhealthcare workers so I can see that it is far from an ideal solution. I just hope that this is the start of improving pay for everyone.

@calmonty It did come across that way but perhaps I spent too long on twitter. Thank you for explaining the thinking behind your statement. Of course, you are right about the potential consequences behind the headlines but on the issue of the pay rise, it’s surely a move in the right direction? Would I be right in guessing that you are not an SNP supporter?

@calmonty I don’t think you needed to make the swipe at ‘over -simplification’. On the issue of the pay rise, I disagree.

@calmonty Can you explain how the NHS pay award is irrational? Seems to me to make sense. Good employers look after their employees and they then look after customers (patients).
