key?value!

@nixCraft Finally!

I miss that see-which-app-opens-which-connection-when and filter it on Linux.
(I remember having a program on Windows 2000 which did exactly that: a personal firewall with a GUI).

@videolan

@Quentin_ctrL "evil" is an interestingly strong word, I would not have associated with CSV...
Interesting. 😄

Which simple plaintext format would you prefer to exchange table-like data?

I know CSV "dialects" in real-life, yet still prefer handling CSV over any binary format.

@nixCraft It's quite possible that "enterprise-anything" IT is doomed to drown in their own tanks of self-inflicted kool-aid... 🤮

Anyone processing #CSV on the commandline (#bash):

apt install csvkit (on Debian-based distros)

`cut` failed on me on a CSV with quotes, so I now use `csvcut`. Awesome!

1. This is simply not true:
"FFV1 is open source and as such will not play on video software on MAC and Windows, nor can FFV1 be utilised within commercially available digitisation hardware and software."

2. True for closed stuff, not true for FOSS:
"Any file format that does not eventually achieve widespread adoption and universal playback within the broadcasting and film-making communities has a higher risk of long term obsolescence and lack of engineering support. "

Open Letter to European Citizens
The door to digital sovereignty is open, please come in
We ask European citizens, and through them those who govern European countries, to understand one important thing: the door to digital sovereignty does not open simply by choosing different software, but by understanding what sovereignty actually entails.
It requires open document formats, open fonts, continuity of expertise, and honesty about what "open" means.

Just saw this on a git-help forum:

> "I have forked a repository, then I made some changes and it looks like I've messed up everything."

...i literally had tears in my eyes, nodding my head. Git is awesome, but this can happen so fast. 🥹
