🏳️‍⚧️ LinkedIn removes #HateSpeech protections for #transgender individuals

@opentermsarchive detected on July 29th that LinkedIn removed transgender-related protections from its policy on hateful and derogatory content. The platform no longer lists “misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals” as examples of prohibited conduct.

📵 #TermsSpotting Meta platforms Instagram and Facebook expanded the signals considered and actions taken to prevent child abuse. Accounts may now be disabled entirely upon liking or saving content, whereas the previous version of the guidelines only referred to restricting access to certain products and features after “interactions” with infringing content.

On July 18, 2025, Instagram and Facebook expanded the signals considered and actions taken to prevent child abuse, introducing the possibility of disabling accounts based on their likes and saves.

🚬 #TermsSpotting Tobacco products merchant Philip Morris introduced the possibility of using #AI analysis of a user’s face for age verification, either during sign-up or when accessing product information. The stated goal is to help control the sale of tobacco products prohibited to minors.

On June 30, 2025, Philip Morris added the possibility of using AI-based facial analysis to verify users' age via an app or online.

Did you rely on the “#DoNotTrack” setting on your phone? Since July 18th, Instagram removed the option for users to opt out of online personalised ads through their mobile device settings. Now, you can only do so through the “Digital Advertising Alliance” and not anymore directly from your phone.
