@davidnjoku Also, I feel that it's totally different story if the library collaborates with a black journalist association to organize a BHM event or if some organisation jumps on the band wagon for what ever reason without even involving a single black person...
@davidnjoku well in Vienna it is quite diverse, but I wouldn't want to live in the countryside ... and that's a shame because the nature in Austria is so beautiful.
If you're fluent in German, you can "buy bonus points" but in general people are pretty ignorant about how racist actually they are and thus I face racism regularly if I go to the countryside.

That Donald Trump's name shows up more times in the Epstein Files (38K) than Harry Potter's does in the Harry Potter books (~19K) or that Joe Rogan has had more guests that were named in the Epstein Files (10+) than he's had Black women guests (~5).

@davidnjoku I’m a Black person living in Austria: the Black Austrian Angelo Soliman was a was a friend of Mozart and acquaintance of the Kaiser. Nonetheless, his skin was put in a museum after he died against the will of his wife and daughter.
In 1999 Austria police suffocated Marcus Omofuma (Nigerian Asylum seeker) and started "Operation Spring" where they terrorized and raided Africans without real evidence and convicted them with dubious evidence.
Saw an Austrian organisation talking about Black History Month, and I don't know how I feel about that. According to Google, Black people make up less than 1% of the population of Austria; Turkish people, at 2%, are the largest minority.
BHM is hugely important in America, especially now. And it's important in the UK, where we're 3% of the population, but 13% of the prison population.
I wonder if having it treated (in good faith) as a bandwagon by others might diminish it.
