#WritersCoffeeClub 5/17. If you work exclusively digitally, could you work by hand? (Or vice-versa!)

I started out writing everything by hand in notebooks. Spiral bound was painful, composition was better. I frequently rearrange sentences after I write them, so there would be a huge mess, so I used either pencil or erasable pens, and the side of my hand would end up black or blue from the ink/graphite. I don't want to go back!

#WordWeavers 17. How would your MC react to being handed a kitten?

Elves don't really trust cats. Most animals can be trained and controlled with elven magic, except for horses and cats. They know cats can sense their magic, but they IGNORE IT. And their purring can activate elven healing magic.

Aggi would be delighted.
Elorhyn would examine it and then hand it off to someone else. Probably Rowan, who would gently push it out the nearest door, or give it back to the original giver.

#WordWeavers 14 May: Which of all the characters you’ve ever written are you most proud of?

Elorhyn was kind of a macguffin in my first writeup - just a child prince someone had to fetch and take home.
Then I did a rewrite and I swapped the ages of the person looking for him and him, and he took on a PERSONALITY (granted, it's mostly moody and melodramatic).
All because I asked: why are humans traveling so far to help this adult elf look for a kid? He'd be a way better tracker than them.

Since I covered #SecondLife facelights yesterday, I did windlights/EEP today. Sort of. It's very basic, but I did include a few technical links for those that want to learn more about all the fine details. (there's a lot of those!)

#WritersCoffeeClub If writing was not your "thing," what would your "thing" be?

Writing is only one of my things. I have so many other things, namely crafts like sewing, knitting, crochet, etc, but writing requires the least amount of things to do the thing and is the easiest to travel with, so I am trying to do more of it and less of the others.

#PennedPossibilities 1012: How do your characters feel about seeing doctors or anyone in the medical field?

The MC in Voidstones is a healer. Usually when he sees another one he's annoyed, because it probably means he's going to get scolded for something.

Dagin, Linnius - relieved
Atik, Hali - wary
Tano - indifferent

#WordWeavers May 12: What role does romantic love play in your story?

Voidstones and Visions - none. it's such a slow burn that the eventual romantic interests spend most of it wary and afraid of each other.

Elven Truths - it's bonus content, newspaper articles written during at least one interconnected romance series. I'm hoping someday that people will say 'Oh, that's why that article was so harsh' and 'OMG Kip wasn't talking about desserts at all.'

I remember I need to post the next edition of Elven Truths on Sunday, but never on Monday. At least I had the draft uploaded and ready to go?
