Yesterday, I found (and fixed) an at least 37 years old bug in #IRAF CL. It appeared already in the first IRAF version where we have source code (2.8). If you have an older version, please let me know! #SoftwareArcheology

Preview for what is coming new in (Community) #IRAF for macOS ... I'd need brave testers.
It seems that the release is significantly delayed: The web page now suggests July 1 2024 as release date. This should give us some time to discuss a common path for IRAF in the future. If NOIRLAB would have interest (from my experience so far, I doubt that).
The IRAF poster shown at #ADASS2023 invites to test and give feedback, so I wrote to the author to establish a contact between NOIRLab and the IRAF community. However, no communication, no test offer so far. Working together would be essential for the future of #IRAF.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to talk on the eScience splinter of the #AG2023 meeting about #IRAF legacy.
