The exceptions are so rare and so nice. The one-man shop that keeps my winter tires lets me book a tire change online. He might change my tires and not say a word, except the price while entering it in the register. Absolutely no follow-up or reminders to come back in the autumn.

One time he sheepishly asked if I’d participate in a tire group buy because my old tires were unusable. Called me five months later which I somehow missed, and never called me again.

Would recommend to a friend.

I googled my own bike’s make and model to see how the stupid mudguards are supposed to attach. And now I get to enjoy ads for electric bikes anywhere I go 🤦‍♂️

I guess that would solve the mudguards though

i was quite surprised to discover that no one had registered deleteduser [dot] com, and was curious to see how many emails i'd get if i registered it, assuming many orgs 'delete' logic probably just overwrote the email address with [email protected] or similar.

The answer, is at least 3 different orgs in the hour that I've owned that domain and been listening for email.

And yes, all of those emails contain the actual PII of the person who has been 'deleted' :-D

Not a new observation, but it’s frustrating how even “good” clothes and backpacks have such lousy zippers. I’m paying a tailor to fix five broken zippers on two jackets, which is good for the GDP I guess, but man it shouldn’t be like this

I’ve probably said it before, but I find it hilarious how all staff in IKEA is always super friendly and helpful. And then there’s the restaurant kitchen that’s run more like an army. Staff don’t fuck around and the customers are not to fuck around either. State your order, move!

But I also want to emphasize that this is the worst microwave I’ve had (it came with the house.)

- no way to quickly select 30 seconds
- no way to “add 30 seconds”, for example to quickly go to 2:30. You need to turn the knob
- the knob is shit. To get to 0:30 you need to twist it ten times
- you can create a preset, but if you recall the preset and then change the time, the preset will be changed 🙃
- no real buttons, just capacitive “buttons”
- … even to open the door 😫

I'd *really* like to replace our microwave, because Bosch can't seem to design a timer dial to save their life. I could probably do it, microwaves are pretty cheap? But I can feel the 20-year-old me, living on macaroni, roll his eyes pretty hard 😅
