This is the Goodbye "MyFamily" support release. 馃帀

As of today the tor network does not need the MyFamily setting anymore since all supported tor versions support the newer and better "Happy Family" design.

ansible-relayor v26.1.0 is released.

It comes with a new CPU affinity feature and
overcomes an old design limitation on how flexible
the tor instance count can be configured.

Please read the Upgrade Steps when upgrading from previous releases,
because it contains a breaking change that requires a minor configuration
change.

The situation around the most important tor network metadata service (onionoo)
appears rather grim. Since CollecTor got replaced weeks ago onionoo is no longer providing reliable and accurate information about the tor network.
This affects many downstream consumers including OrNetStats.
Without onionoo there is no OrNetStats.

Also more important tools than OrNetStats used for bad relays detection depend on onionoo.

This issue does not appear to get the attention it deserves.

The Torproject has set the end-of-life date for tor version 0.4.8.x to 2026-06-01.

If you are still running tor version 0.4.8.x relays or clients consider upgrading.
