Crafter. (Unintendedly) collecting and spreading bits of thread.

I have a thing for sewing, pattern drafting and embroidery.
An unspecified amount of my energy goes into @xHain_hackspace 💚

Love seeing all the tech-y people on Mastodon but do feel a little out of my depth, every time I log on someone's posting about quarking the gibblets of their custom-built gaming Flurgatron 3000 and trying to get it to run at 764 bloops per fnurk

Refining algorithmically derived (from literal textbook methods) crotch curves on trouser slopers is the height of tedium. So as part of developing the patterns for #SkysOutThighsOut, I’m trying out Carol Kimball’s “crotch master” method. Step 1: shape wire to my actual crotch curve. #sewing
It is so tiny but so beautiful 🥺

Made some more stickers (the pink/purple ones), inspired by @drc3p0 ‘s DIY OR DIE TRYIN sticker (second photo along with some of their other stickers!). $10 thermal printer has a hard time adjusting to round stickers and basically wouldn’t calibrate on the glitter ones at all. Gotta see if there are some manual setup options.

Here's your reminder to heal loudly. Tell us all about it. Because we almost lost you, when you were silent.

Apparently if you keep a European brown frog in your unrefrigerated milk it doesn't spoil, due to the frog's antimicrobial secretions in their skin. This was a practice used before people had access to fridges.

I don't know how you politely direct them to chill in a pool of milk tho, or stop them from pooping in it?

I'm searching around to see if this really was used in the 18th-20th centuries because it sounds like a fever dream. People swear up and down that they did.

Converting knitting needle sizes between US and metric is actually quite easy. Simply multiply the US size by a random number between 0.6 and infinity

Happy Patch Tuesday!

I've been inspired by the frogs chirping from the creek by my house.

I'm trying something different for today's patch. Printing on LINEN with GREEN ink.

If you have a favorite shirt that needs a repair, or a bag that needs some flair (see what I did there?) visit my website to add one to your collection!
