A phenomenon I've noticed recently is people trying to occupy some untenable middleground wrt to the use of systems sold as "AI" -- this is a position where people try to recognize the harms of this tech but also hold space for "responsible" or "ethical" use.

Since it's Father's Day, I've been remembering my father. He died 25 years ago at the age of 89. I'll pass on to you the most important advice he ever gave me. I was in high school at the time. He told me that if a man -- boyfriend or husband -- ever hit me, I was to walk out the door and never go back. It didn't matter if I had done something to provoke the violence, I was to leave immediately. No second chances.

Hannah Einbinder has won the ‘All Good Either Way’ Award for Bisexuality in Media at the 2026 Las Culturistas Culture Awards. Einbinder, who is openly bisexual and best known for playing comedy writer Ava Daniels in the Emmy-winning series 'Hacks', picked up the tongue-in-cheek honour at the ceremony hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. The awards were taped in Los Angeles on 30 May and aired on Bravo and Peacock on 17 June.
