That's how I knew it was there, it was being so loud and excited, probably announcing the find to any other birbs that happened to be around

I'd been seeing quick glimpses of juncos for the last week or two (they're fall / winter migrants in these parts), but this was the first time I got an actual shot. They sure don't make things easy for me!

I didn't expect to see white-crowns at the north end of Lost Lagoon -- I've occasionally seen them in Ceperley Meadows -- but here was an adult with an adolescent, competing with a Song Sparrow gang over these scattered seeds

This adolescent Great Blue spent at least two hours fishing in this one little nook on the north end of Lost Lagoon. There seemed to be an unending supply of these little sticklebacks so it seemed happy enough right there.
