“I ain't the world's best writer nor the world's best speller
But when I believe in something I'm the loudest yeller”

Avatar alt-text: An artfully off-center full-face photograph of a middle-aged white man with a salt-and-pepper beard and closely cropped hair, dressed in black t-shirt, blue denim jacket, and black glasses, and sitting in a booth in a restaurant, smiling warmly.

Header alt-text: Two views of a pair of desembodied hands performing a Riffle Shuffle In The Air, from the book Royal Road to Card Magic by Jean Hugard and Frederick Braué, executed as a line drawing. The hands flex the cards dramatically, preparing to release them. On the visible face of one half of the deck is a three of clubs.

"Voters in a small Missouri town, unhappy with the city council’s approval of a $6 billion data center, struck back at the polls last week, ousting all four incumbent council members running for reelection.

The rout of half the Festus City Council was fueled by a surge in voter turnout and widespread frustration with the data center approval process."

Hey, earlier today I put a content warning on this, and... on consideration, I'm going to spoiler it:

"The Drama" movie is about a school shooting. Kristoffer #Borgli and their marketing team from #A24 is trying to prevent "spoilers" because they don't care about triggering PTSD of school shooting victims.

The FBI was able to forensically extract copies of incoming Signal messages from a defendant’s iPhone, even after the app was deleted, because copies of the content were saved in the device’s push notification database. Forensic extraction—when someone has physical access to a device and is able to run specialised software on it—can yield sensitive data derived from secure messaging apps in unexpected places. Signal has a setting that blocks message content from displaying in push notifications.

I don't think anyone wanted America to be _credible_ on the threat of genocide. We're all pretty happy Trump failed to follow through. It's a blow to America's reputation, trustworthiness, any remaining veneer of ethicality, morality, or legality...
