John Bradley, the author of xv, has died. The program was one of the early versatile image viewers for X11 on UNIX like systems, and no Linux distro in the 1990s was complete without it.
If you want to try it out, it compiles very easily on modern Linux systems if you use this patched source:

Released v0.19.0 of Mongoose Traveller for FoundryVTT. It would have been 0.18.10, but I've noticed that Foundry sometimes has problems when switching to a double digit version component.

A few small updates:
* Option to display hex in world UWP dropdowns
* World trade codes can now be manually set
* World factions can now be hidden
* Added a 'Skill Request' macro.
* Improvements to Spanish translations.

Mongoose Traveller 2e, a Game System for Foundry Virtual Tabletop

I shoot N10p in the face. In my defence I had just gone mad. In our Call of Cthulhu campaign, we meet something which may or may not be the Crawling Chaos. He may be an Outer God, but dropping in on a lady when she's just lost a big chunk of SAN doesn't always meet with a friendly response.

Masks of Nyarlathotep 20

Shooting N10p in the face probably wasn’t a great move, but in my defence I was insane at the time.

Gaming Chronicles

Settled down last night to watch one of our new 4k Blurays ("Ronin"), only to be presented with a "Copyright Violation" error.

Makes me seriously consider figuring out how to pirate stuff.

In our Age of Chivalry game last week, the Flemish were very definitely defeated when the Free Companies decided not to fight them, but just grab the loot and run.

This time, we chose a scenario that would force me to fight. The Flemish pikemen were pretty tough, and so it was going to be a difficult battle.

The ending didn't quite go how I expected though.

Return of the Flemish

The Flemish and Free Companies do battle once again. This time they both have to hold territory, so the Free Companies might actually have to get into a fight.

We had our session of character generation for my next Traveller campaign. Set in Milieu Zero, at the dawn of the founding of the Third Imperium. We have five players, and we're using my MgT2e system on FoundryVTT.

All characters were mostly completed, and next I need to tweak my plans for the starting scenario.

Travellers

We did character generation for our next Traveller campaign. All five players managed to get most of their characters sorted in the evening.

Our Ars Magica campaign comes to an abrupt end as we try to interrupt the ritual being cast by the Archmage Alois and his associates.

It's the final session on a four year campaign in Loch Leglean.

1241, Winter

Our campaign ending plan to disrupt a powerful ritual as it is being cast is put into operation. The results are spectacular.

Gaming Chronicles

We had a game of Saga: Age of Chivalry this weekend. It was my Free Companies against the Flemish, fighting over some loot. The Flemish, with all their pikes, looked impressive, but it's difficult to grab loot when you're carrying a very long pointy stick.

The Free Companies and Flemish go head to head after some loot in this game of Saga: Age of Chivalry.

Thinking about how to do wooded terrain for Dirtside, I got a big cheap bag of model trees from Amazon. The Hexon tiles include 'forest' tiles, so I glued some tree bases to them, a stuck the trees in the bases.

This gives me removable trees for travel and placement of models during a game. With 5 trees to a hex for heavy woods, and 3 for light woods, I think it gives a reasonable look, plus hopefully keeps playability.

Tank hiding on hex for scale.
