A Wigtownshire born and bred Gallovidian now exiled in Clackmannanshire. I miss the sea, love wind and high places. Past life was psychology research. Now I have more time for #walking, #cycling #hills #books, #crows and whatever else might be lurking ahead. Store all the good in your hump for the lean times.
@therightarticle interesting. As I posted earlier, The News Agents podcast did exactly the same today (i.e. interviewed only an Israeli spokesman about the #ICJ #GazaGenocide case). Presumably #Israel is putting enormous pressure on news media to silence the #Palestinian side of the argument.

"The First Minister was responding to recommendations in a report from Dr Calum MacLeod, who in a paper published on Thursday said a 3000-hectare trigger for public interest tests on Scottish land sales should be cut to just 500 hectares.

Mercedes Villalba, a Labour MSP for the North East, has also called for a 500-hectare limit, calling the Government’s proposed 3000-hectare trigger “timid”."

Really, really, really still trying to find My People here on Mastodon. Am I on the wrong server or something? I'm a self-employed #artist / #maker / #writer ... I make #ceramics ( #pottery )... dye #yarn ... #knit ... read #sciencefiction ... have two #dogs and eleven #cats ... am a recent #widow who loves to talk about what a wild ride #grief is ... and I'm a #Floridian scared shitless for my #BiPOC and #lgbtqia friends and family. Is that enough tags? Hello? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I see they’ve put up black netting to hide the #Republic protest on St Giles Street from bigears in the cathedral. What a waste of money this #pointlessPomp is. #NotMyKing #NotScotlandsKing
Hello from Rogart. A much less windy day. Delicate corrugated grey toadstools have sprung up over the pile of old hen bedding. They don’t last for long, drooping, fading into black lines before disappearing. Another grey thing is my new to me favourite shirt. Annoyingly, I ripped it on barbed wire. But now it is fixed & darned. I find mending a soothing process, it mends me too. Transforming crossness & anger at my own carelessness into little stitches & something useful…
For people in Europe to get a better idea of the size of just one of the largest fires in Quebec right now, it is 12,599 km² (about 88% the size of Northern Ireland 14,130 km² or 57% the size of Irish province of Ulster 22,067 km²). 16/
Any orchid experts. Is this a Northern Marsh orchid or is it too pale. #ScottishWildOrchids #OrchidID
People laughed at me when I suggested this as an option for Scotland as a whole - simply become a Danish self-governing territory. EEA access and all kinds of stuff sorted at a stroke. #Scotland #Orkney #EFTA

Asking the wrong questions - Scottish Community Alliance

The Synthesis Report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) earlier this month makes for grim reading. It concludes that limiting global warming to between 1.5 and two degrees involves rapid, deep and, in most cases, immediate greenhouse gas emission reductions. Limiting the global rise to 1.5 degrees is still possible, but only […]
