I think Hegseth quoting fake bible passages from Pulp Fiction, presumably because he doesn't know they're made up, perfectly illustrates the role of religion in right wing extremist politics. It's a tool to control the masses. Nothing more.

I'm an atheist, but I grew up in a Christian community. US and Israeli violence is not in line with the core message. (Although there are people in my old community who supports them.)
