OK, I think it's time for me to move instances.

I created this account several years ago as my first entry into the Fediverse, but I'm migrating to hachiderm.io now, which is more of a tech-focused instance.

See you all on the other side!

In Nederland:

On 9th May 1386 the Treaty of Windsor was signed between Portugal and England, uniting the two countries in a perpetual alliance.

It remains the oldest active alliance in the world.

In WW2 it would TWICE play a quiet but critical part in the allies' victory over the Axis, to the watching disbelief of Roosevelt and the Americans.

Here's how the treaty came about, was lost, almost got cancelled, then helped Britain in its darkest hour. /1 🧵 #history #histodons #portugal #uk

If it were about protecting kids, they would have passed sensible gun laws years ago.

This post is about trans people.

Being structured is good.

Having a process so rigid that you always need to perform the same steps even when they make zero sense and add no value (but do add cost): that's by definition not agile.

Nice example of "Agile": just finished a ticket for a plain text change. The ticket stated which text to change and what to change it to. Nice and clear.

I submit it for review and get it bounced back because I didn't write a textual test scenario.

Why? Because it needs to be tested by support, and if it needs to be tested by support it always needs a scenario.

People and interactions over process anyone? 🙄

🎵 Hello airport, my old friend.
I've come to work here once again. 🎶
Happy to share that I'll be speaking at @joyofcoding this year! The amazing @maritvandijk and I will talk (and sing) about 15 songs that work with “public static void main” as its lyrics. Can you guess which songs we'll cover? #MusicAndSoftware https://joyofcoding.org/speakers/lightning-talks.html
