Yousaf won't win his court battle with Westminster, and he knows it. All legal costs will go to the other lot. And even independence voters will ask why money was wasted on a legal battle that couldn't be won. The significant wing of SNP members opposed to the GRB will split, but not before helping Yousaf toppling the SNP house. Nicola Sturgeon and her husband's problems, and the lies of others who knew facts they hid from the membership/voters, only exacerbates this.

One of the three candidates was right to say that neither of the other two would be SNP leaders could achieve independence, but she was never going to be elected. A large section of their membership will move towards versions of mass civil disobedience to put a referendum on the agenda regardless of what English Prime Ministers want. Split votes will damage any pro independence party becoming First Minister ever again. Yousaf contributes to The SNP's problems by the day.

I should make my personal attitude towards Scottish independence clear; no wish to hide anything. If unionists or independence supporters want to attack me, I hope both will not represent my views: firstly I emphatically support the right of the Scottish people to choose their/our destiny. I won't impose my attitude on the majority, unlike Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer or any other English unionist. But the SNP no longer has a plan for securing independence. That's a fact.
There has been so much happening in Scotland that I don't think I can avoid commenting on issues that matter so much to me. I could leave that to my other, more popular, account, but it might be best dealt with here.
Additionally, I will flesh out a few things I started to discuss prior to Nicola Sturgeon vanishing into The Twilight Zone. I can multitask, at least a bit. Now and then. I can do that despite my terminal attention deficit disorder.
It's almost a month since I posted anything. So much has happened. When I set the account up I intended to focus primarily on my own personal situation, but that may no longer be tennable.
Secondly, I chose the name, avatar and banner with care. The name and avatar could be out of date though: Nicola Sturgeon is no longer the SNP's leader nor Scotland's First Minister. And she could soon end up behind bars. Will I be accused of paranoia if I speculated as to whether my account helped? Definitely
I've done zero proof reading before hitting Publish! I suspect they're riddled with typos of all sorts: factual inaccuracies may be there, but I hope not. Bound to be spelling and grammatical mistakes, pointless repetition and stylistic faux pas. But thanks to Mastodon's Edit button I'll try to fix any of this that has crept through. In addition to belated proof reading to fix these stream of consciousness posts, I'll be adding a lot more, as well as providing links to contemporary blog entries
After waiting for half an hour someone came to me and asked my name. When I told her she said all charges had been dropped and I should go home. If that's the case why did the person taking names at the door tell me the opposite? When exactly did the charges get dropped? I didn't want them to be dropped. I wanted my day in court to expose these judges and police officers, and my own lawyers, of collusion in a malicious prosecution to protect officers being investigated for collusion with thugs.
I waited in a long queue outside the court and was searched before being allowed in. When I got to the desk I gave my name and was told which court to go to. I told this person that my MSP had just phoned me to tell me the Procurator Fiscal's office had phoned her telling her all charges were dropped and I wasn't to attend court. He said my name was in the book and if I don't go to court the existing arrest warrant would lead to my being jailed. So I went to the court. I waited for half an hour.
After four telephone conversations, my MSP told me she'd just spoken by phone with the Procurator Fiscal's office and they'd dropped all charges so I shouldn't attend court. I reminded her my bail conditions insisted if I missed another appearance that would trigger the arrest warrant. She called me paranoid for refusing to boycott the court appearance. I told her she could dodge her duty to represent me in court in lieu of having got no lawyer, but I was turning up just in case. Then what?
The prosecution did drop all charges against me, but not until I turned up looking forward to exposing what had happened in open court, with journalists and a written record of what I said and what the cops and 'witnesses' said. I was on the phone to my MSP for a few hours before my court appearance. I suspected they'd drop charges but my MSP said they'd not done this. I told her I wanted it to go ahead unless I could get a postponement to get a lawyer. Otherwise I represent myself....
