Imagine if an iPhone XS user in Australia with fully updated iOS couldn't make a phone call to emergency services, and Apple said "that's impossible, we already fixed that issue with a new cellular modem firmware in iOS 18.7.4".

Wouldn't that be crazy?

Fall is a lovely season, where status pages start turning from green into different shades of yellow and red 🍁
@stroughtonsmith Interesting, I thought Apple yelled at you if you mentioned "iOS 26" in release notes before it was released 🙃

Fan speed is a slider hidden in accessory settings. It's not available on watchOS at all.

If the accessory reports that fan speed has 5 discrete levels instead of being a continuous 0-100, it still lets me move the slider smoothly, and then abruptly snaps to the nearest valid value. Maybe only after the accessory responds, even.

Tapping on the current temperature (roughly the highlighted area here) toggles the AC on and off, very easy to do by accident. Tapping anywhere else in the rectangle opens the thermostat UI.
The Apple Home UI for air conditioners is surprisingly bad. I wanted to make my own HomeKit bridge for my AC and this is killing my enthusiasm.
Well that was surprisingly easy (esp-homekit-sdk).
I guess it's Wireshark's anniversary today or something.
Apple finally concedes they fucked up the AirPods Max firmware update.
Apple can predict heart rate from accelerometer data using machine learning, but they can't make the "Copy" button reliably appear when selecting text on a PDF. It only works on the first page.
