Why am I telling you all this? Because I just got this photo from my sister.

Adam found a half-melted vodka shot glass in one of the last pockets of ash.

Somebody drank from this shot glass before the War. Somebody laughed and cried over it.

Then the War happened, and this shot glass half-melted in the embers of Warsaw, burning during the Uprisings.

And today, almost 80 years later, it was found in the floor of my bathroom.

Unsere Kleider, Autos, Waschmaschinen, Häuser, Straßen, Flugreisen, Schulen, Krankenhäuser, Kinos, Supermärkte und Hallenbäder haben wir mit dem Leid gegenwärtiger und künftiger Generationen vor allem im Globalen Süden bezahlt. Es wird allerhöchste Zeit, etwas zurückzugeben.

This is a tide driven mill in Hénan nearby Pont-Aven in Finistère in #Breizh from the 15th century.
When the water pushes out the dam, it drives a water wheel.

For everyone here: I read there is a shortage of instances run by women admins. I know a few already, but I love to know more. I am one for one, but
https://vis.social/about/more and I thought https://mastodon.art/about/more is one too.
Mine i https://socialserver.science/about/more and is mainly aimed at scientists and scientific visualizers.
Please boost!
vis.social

vis.social is an open social platform for creative people, especially anyone in SciArt, SciComm, data, visualization, creative coding, and related arts and research. English is the common language of the instance.

Mastodon hosted on vis.social

one of the under-reported features of mastodon is the NOTE-option.

you can add a private, only visible to you (and people with database acess, I guess) note to every profile.

so imagine somebody is grinding your gears with a mansplainy response. you want to block/mute them. you can add a little note like "muted for being a kacknerd". So you'll remember.

you can, of course, also fill the notes with heart-emojis. but I'd suggest to send those emojis as a DM.

The view from the patio of the Bar De La Vallee 🍹

In the summer I did a tour from the #Netherlands through #Belgium and #France to #Breizh with a smol electric scooter and a tent. Using little roads and the #CampingMunicipal owned by the local government.

It was an experience in slow #lowCarbonTravel and I'll post pictures of it under from time to time #tourDeNiu

This is the patio of a very nice, friendly and cheap bar in Givet, France frequented by the locals and the tourists alike.
