Prof. Dr. Joachim Volz klagt derzeit vor dem Arbeitsgericht Hamm gegen das kategorische #Abtreibungsverbot selbst bei Gefahr für das Leben der Frau in dem Krankenhaus, daß von einem katholischen Träger übernommen wurde.
Gleichzeitig hat er eine #Petition gestartet, welches gegen dieses Verbot Aufmerksamkeit wecken soll.

Ein irritierender Vorgang:
Der Berichterstatter zum #Chatkontrolle Gesetzesvorschlag im Europäischen Parlament lädt dort heute zu einem Treffen mit fast ausschließlich Befürwortern der geplanten Massenüberwachung ein.
Obwohl das Parlament schon längst eine Position gegen die Chatkontrolle beschlossen hat.

Und: @edri als Vertretung der Zivilgesellschaft wurde erst nach einer Presseanfrage von @netzpolitik_feed zur einseitigen Besetzung der Veranstaltung eingeladen:

Your server admin will not ask you to click a link to verify your account. And no other admin from any other server will either, even if they do look like they could be part of the main Mastodon team. It's a scam.

For fuck's sake, stop dissing Gen Z for talking differently. WE don't talk like our parents did, and we didn't enter a world with instant global communication at our fingertips.

It's well-documented that linguistic exposure/proximity changes the way everyone talks, given time. Well, today's kids were BORN into proximal exposure. This is a natural thing they're doing.

The internet coincided with puberty, for me, and I gotta tell ya, I appreciate that fact, because I was already in a state of flux, of growth, of wariness about the powers I felt emerging within myself. Plus, it wasn't a constant presence in my hand or pocket, like it is now, and has been for them.

Z walked into a digital world. It is their nature. Guide them, advise them, tell them your stories, but stop shitting on their chimeric patois and stop trying to control them. Let's not turn into our own parents this time.

This is an #amwriting type of question, but what is a good way of finding beta readers? I don't have that much of an audience (though anyone who follows me is welcomed to raise their hand) but I'd like a few folks to give me an alpha read (before the editor) and give me rough ideas if the plot and pacing work, if the characters are interesting, or the "broad strokes" are right.

I'd go through the writing group, but there is no way I can have everything done before my arbitrary deadline (published and in my hand on September 23, 2025; this means I need to be starting the editing process by the end of July) so I'd like folks who are willing to read the entire thing and give me opinions, or tell me when and why they DNF'd it (if they do).
