Extroverted nerd interested in tech, board games, woodworking, software, DIY, photography and so forth ad nauseam.

Married, you don't care about my age, really. We have a 6+ neapolitan mastiff that's Instagram famous.

Employed in software, kind of, data analysis sort of (but that's really not my strong suit), always working on things I never worked on before (which is typically my strong suit).

I've been #recruited! #ServerMigration is happening.

See my new account at @retorch - you don't have to (re)follow me, that'll happen automatically when I flip the switch!

Should look the same except "JOINED" will change from "Jan 12, 2017" to "Dec 16, 2022" (oof!)

And, of course, my old posts will not be moved (though I might recreate a few of my favorites.)

@kpwags Not the only way to taste a little bourbon in your morning coffee!
@the_dp And then this happened somehow....
Ford Maverick Electric & Maverick Plug in Hybrid could arrive next

A Ford Maverick Electric and a Ford Maverick Plug in Hybrid (PHEV) could follow the Maverick Hybrid launched in late 2021.

@smilesandnods What I've learned from all the educational content to be found in trashy reality shows is that the floor for an acceptable percent of agreement, effort and support is 1000%.

Can we flip the script? Can we be recruited to Mastodon servers?

Who would want me there?!

I can't figure out how to choose a server for myself 😅 😜

When I was shooting this song sparrow, I didn't realize that the cabbage white butterfly was in the shot. With wildlife photography, there are frequently surprises once you view your images on a big screen.

@codetholdory Sadly, there were a few issues. #PyPDF4 isn't really ready - no documentation (though maybe in theory it's still identical to PyPDF2). And #PyPDF2 documentation is all outdated! All of the methods were renamed from snake case to camel case, and some given completely new names. Managed to figure out all that and reproduce the compression example, but it actually results in a slightly larger file instead!

@codetholdory This looks very promising! I came across pypdf2 and pypdf4 today, but hadn't found the compression specific documentation. This definitely points me in the right direction. I'll update my proof-of-concept tomorrow morning, and send a callback your way with the results.

@idropyou So basic. Especially the 24 different angles you had to calculate, cut and join correctly.

Did you glue and clamp those? HOW? Ha ha!
