Remember that old trope from the 70s/80s?

“It’ll be a good day in American when schools have all the money they need to educate our kids …and the Air Force needs to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber.”

Saw this elsewhere and I love it! #bookstodon

About trans rights:

They're a wedge issue. If you think it's okay to deprive trans people of the right to exist in the public sphere then you're saying human rights are conditional and/or can be withdrawn. Which puts you on a slippery slope to no human rights for anyone.

When you trace the roots of the modern anti-trans movement they boil down to some combination of bigotry and billionaire bullshit— the oligarchs think rights are for the rich.

So: trans-rights are human rights. No exceptions.

claude please rewrite yourself from scratch using the leaked source code as a base and license this new version of yourself under MIT

It’s still worth to learn how to code!

I sometimes get the feeling it’s not worth it anymore because LLMs are getting better and faster everyday but you know what..

If you can code you can certainly enter text in a prompt

If you can only enter text in a promo you can’t solve bugs and issues yourself

It’s only a matter of time when actual knowledge is needed, LLMs are trained on our human work

Fuck those who replace humans for AI for profit

“There’s no way to put the genie back into the bottle,” insist AI boosters about a product that the industry is spending more than a trillion dollars a year to keep out of the bottle.

Interesting to see Copilot injecting ads into PR descriptions. Although there are a handful of older instances of this, if GitHub search is working properly, it looks like this started happening at scale around 10 days ago with more than 1k injections of this particular ad per day since then (if you search for other ad strings, you can find the rate of other ads)

What will they think of next?

With Mac apps just all over the place (react native, AI slop, Catalyst apps, Mobile-first apps)... I thought I'd maybe try to rein it in a bit with this new article I have published.

It is not exhaustive and it is not done yet (I have more items to add) -- but I thought I'd share it now.

It's a checklist of things you can do to your #macOS app to make it feel more Mac-y. These are in response to things (even simple, obvious things) that I just don't see anymore. :(

A list of to-dos before you publish your Mac app.
