While it's preaching to the choir on Mastodon, I want to express my support the Digital Independence Day (#DIDit) organised by various German non-profits. Unfortunately there's no serious alternative to YouTube as a video platform, but in many other areas independent alternatives have come a long way. I'm happy that there's a coordinated attempt to convince more people that there is a digital world beyond US tech giants.
