The 10-day long National Cadet Corps nation building camp successfully ended at the NEHU on Dec 16. This Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat camp was organised by NCC Directorate North Eastern Region, bringing together 600 NCC cadets of 9 States. The camp witnessed the youngsters participating in various cultural events, visit to various places in Meghalaya, several motivational /Guest lectures & various competitions. I would like to appreciate such activities for inclusiveness of our country citizens.

It is moment of great joy to share that Darilin Tang, Research Scholar from the Department of Management at NEHU, Tura Campus has been selected as the sole delegate from the North East to participate in the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Student and Youth (JENESYS) 2023.

Many congratulations to Darilin Tang, I’m sure that this good news shall motivate all young brains of NEHU and Meghalaya to explore all available opportunities, think out-of-box and work in 360 degree dimensions.

North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong organized a programme to honour and commemorate the 151st death anniversary of the illustrious freedom fighter Pa Togan Sangma. The programme highlighted the significant role played by Pa Togan Sangma and freedom fighters of North-East India, shedding light on their contributions that were not widely known in mainland India until recently.

It was a great pleasure to attend the capacity building programme for farmers on ‘Citrus Biodiversity Fair and PGR Conservation Awareness’ organized by the Dept. of Horticulture, NEHU, Tura Campus along with ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi under NEH scheme under the theme ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.

The programme showcased the rich citrus biodiversity of Garo Hills region of Meghalaya and also made the farmers aware about the germplasm conservation. https://bit.ly/3GG07eT

The programme was attended by 100 farmers involved in citrus farming from three districts of Garo hills including East, West and South Garo Hills.

I'm happy to share that the “International Day of Cashew” was celebrated at the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus in collaboration with APEDA (Regional Office, Guwahati) on 23rd Nov, 2023.
