Lotus Emira at Newlands Corner in Surrey today. Great looking car.
Sometimes opportunities present themselves, to do or own things that bring a huge smile to your face and provide an escape from the day to day. To me that’s how I view car ownership. This year I realised that I could probably stretch to a 2nd hand McLaren so after much nail biting over such a commitment, I took the plunge. Probably not something I’ll ever be able to afford to do again and with the inevitable death of the ICE, possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to boot.
I missed the pull of the V6 though so a while later I decided I might as well complete the set and own a Lotus Exige. I was very fortunate to take stewardship of a 1 of 25 Lotus Exige Type 25. I miss this car A LOT!
When I ran out of cash for a home renovation project I decided to switch things up and jumped into something much more raw, a Lotus Elise 220 Cup, no power steering, no sound proofing, no carpets… all feel. Loved it.
Since childhood I’d been fascinated by Lotus’s. I’d always loved their mantra of “Simplify then add lightness”. I visited my local dealership set on a 2nd hand first generation Evora and walked away with something which probably cost me twice that, such is my weakness for V6 with a wailing exhaust. :D
This is some truly awful UI on the Dell website. I have to click 'Sign Out' to get to my account.
