@Andres4NY the short answer is the stadium is a well organized and monied institution.
We thought of doing the same on Austin or elsewhere in the neighborhood, but we do not currently have the volunteer force to do it.

@markstos @capntransit we don't know the actual reason for why it was up, but we assume it's the same as most buildings: it gets put up for pointing and buildings feel it's cheaper to keep it up than it is to take it down.
Either way, it has been an obstacle in the community for years and got highlighted in our Austin St walkthrough.

Steinway's and Austin's histories are similar, two local commercial streets, plagued with dangers, and disinvested by the City for decades.
Let's finally fix these and all other commercial streets in NYC!
On Nov. 21, Mayor Eric Adams' administration announced an investment of $12 million through the Strategy for Equity and Economic Development (SEED) Fund for public realm and streetscape improvements along Steinway Street, something that was promised by the previous administration but was not implemented.
