But the router works! And it even came with a bit, that’s sharp! And maybe I can upgrade my fence? (TBD) And now I have a bajillion Kreg screws and some 3/4” plywood scraps with holes in it. So I came out ahead.

But I don’t really need a *third* router.

While I’m here - anybody know why there’s a big gap under the vacuum port, on the back of the fence? Seems like it would make it not work.

8 new F clamps for Christmas this year! Maybe I have enough of those, now. Maybe.

Next year more C and spring clamps 😜

Thank goodness for shear pins! (And for having a spare set on hand!)

It’s been a long time since I did a #Lego set! This gift was a nice surprise. I forgot how intricate even “simple” models are.

But I also felt a profound sense of loss, while building it. I remember Lego as a time for experimentation, design, and creativity. Lego was “play”. This was “focus”. I was just the machine building someone else’s creation.

“Focus” can be nice! But it doesn’t spark joy.

Maybe next year I’ll just ask for a bucket of bricks! 💡

Ah, dammit! I complained about the world. After just saying I wouldn’t.

Thankfully my cat was prepared to rescue me. #CatsOfMastodon

Sometimes it’s hard to follow my policy of not posting negative stuff about the world.

Here’s a picture to help me remember the good stuff! #CatsOfMastodon

Oh yeah, there’s something else I’ve been working on for a while, and finally finished. (And wow, what a game!)

#SilkSong

And it’s done! 🎉

Now to put the tools away and the house back together…

Sorry for the message flood in this thread, everybody who doesn’t care about this subject ;)

The last piece is currently warming up! It’s gotten so cold outside, and cutting & coping two ends takes so long, that I’m worried about the cold affecting the installation.

So before I wrap up this thread: big thanks to my 13yo who has helped throughout, and my wife for helping with the room prep and reassembly!

And here’s a shot of the saw station. I’m running out of daylight too - so this is finishing just in time! Rain and snow the rest of the week!

And the next piece, and another scarf joint!
