@tursilion I'm surprised it was the processor. Maybe a power spike or the VDP damage carried along to the processor. The Chinese guy probably bought oxidized old-stock. It looks like the pins have been polished manually because some pins are slightly lower.
The keyboard has some bad keys, and I think I can repair it. In the meanwhile I can play Borzork by yours truly using a joystick 😀 #retro #retrogaming #ti994a
I've repaired a TI-99/4A. The video chip was failing, and it was replaced. But the screen was still black, I followed the trail to the CPU that didn't generate any address at all (tri-state). I got a TMS9900 from China, removed the original, put a socket made of pin rows, and et voila! #retro #retrogaming #ti994a

Nonostante i suoi 46 anni sulle spalle, è ancora oggi estremamente divertente.

The MSXdev'25 contest closes with 50 entries in competition! All-time record! Some very impressive entries using the newest 8MB ROM mapper (that's right, a Z80 CPU at 3.58 mhz. using 8MB of code/data) #retro #retrogaming #msx #msx2 https://www.msxdev.org/
@root42 I got a floppy disk puncher, but still I was wondering what about the index hole. Your video certainly clears that, the C64 drive doesn't have an index sensor!

New video: Floppy Disk Punch

Back in the 1980s floppy disks were expensive. And many early floppy disk drives were only single sided, which means they only had one read/write head and would only use one disk side. Both Commodore and Apple-II users quickly figured out that you could flip the disk around, if you punched a hole into the other side of the disk.

@sirwumpus maybe the God Programmer @codinghorror can help promoting you?
@brainwagon btw, I'm a great fan of your work in RenderMan 😀 ✌️
@brainwagon I use Google Translate to read the pages, and it does a reasonable job. I just checked the translation in your page and the text although readable is non-sensical, the FM registers table is right, but the instrument tables are all wrong.
