Drums. Words. Noise. Fishing. Fire. Bonsai. Sometimes all at once.

I won’t listen to your podcast, but I might listen to your album.

Canal work going on outside my sister’s apartment in #Amsterdam. My brother, a former commercial #diver, explains how they are doing it all wrong based on this one picture she sent us.
Another rad #Reno ride, this one east of the city on a section of the #Tahoe Pyramid Trail (and a not quite so scenic detour through the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center [scenic if you’re into concrete and the Tire Rack warehouse]). #BikeTooter
In #Reno for a class and conference, so I brought my #bike. Rode the Steamboat Ditch trail today and then back to my hotel on surface streets. Any Reno #BikeTooter people wanna give me a recommendation for tomorrow’s ride?
Tried to make some friends, but they didn’t wanna have anything to do with me. #cows

Back in #NorCal and my daughter had a soccer referee training in #RedBluff today, so I brought my #bike and got some miles in. Northeast #CentralValley is fucking lovely this time of year. #BikeTooter

Work in southern #NewMexico this week involved a lot of driving and talking, but I was able to get a few short hikes in. This is a #panorama from the Rim Trail in the Sacramento Mountains just outside #Cloudcroft, looking down to the Tularosa Basin. I do love NM. #hiking #nature
I’m in #NewMexico working on a wildfire project (CWPP) for #OteroCounty. Today’s field survey took me from Albuquerque to Ruidoso to Tularosa and LaLuz, and finally to Cloudcroft. Some non-fuels related pics.

The #ChicoCA #Bonsai Society hosted Julian Tsai this weekend for workshops and demos. Always excellent to get hand-on teaching from a professional (and also incredibly humbling).

This was his third year in a row with us and again stressed that #horticultural and healthy #trees must come first. You cannot style marginal material.

A couple shots from the club demo and a before/after of an Itiogawa juniper of mine that he set initial branching on.

The buckbrush (Ceanothus cuneatus) is blooming
