Drums. Words. Noise. Fishing. Fire. Bonsai. Sometimes all at once.

I won’t listen to your podcast, but I might listen to your album.

Early morning #fox on the wall at work

Jonathan Richman is in the middle of his annual Chico residency. Why #ChicoCA? Cuz he lives here!

Three seated shows at our little theater, three shows at the coffee shop where we host all-ages #punk shows, and a Father’s Day show at an outdoor venue this year.

It’s rad to see JR strolling around with his guitar and making up songs about your friends or chatting with him after a movie, but these little shows are such a treat. (You can also hire Jonathan to build you a backyard pizza oven.)

And a bonus #streetcar from a quick walk around #SanFrancisco after visiting a friend's bar in SoMa.

A few more #bonsai from the show. This crypotmeria (first pic) was incredible for a 20" tree -- also by Marsha.

A few photos from the 2026 Sei Boku Bonsai Kai show in #SanMateo. I drove down to hang out with a friend in Oakland on Friday, and then attended this #bonsai show on Saturday morning.

Really a nicely sized event with about 35 knockout trees, excellent club sales table, and a few vendors. This shohin redwood in the first pic is about 8 inches tall -- amazing work by Marsha Mekisich.

Got out for some #fishing for the first time in a long time. This is Deer Creek, northwest of #ChicoCA.

It’s my #birthday. I am 50.

Well fuck yeah! Another surprise 2026 album from another excellent band that I never expected to hear a new song from (the other band was Neurosis).

Now give me a Gang of Four rekkid with Ted Leo on it.

Yeah, I'm still on one of the hellsites (my groups and bands, man), but you can always find nice things in the swamp.
