Gustav Klimt was just 17 years old when in 1879 he drew this charcoal and black chalk portrait, titled "Portrait of a Girl, Head Slightly Turned Left".

Already at that young age he demonstrated superb technical mastery of the use of shadow to create a three-dimensional image on paper.

8 May 1941 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Diena Hilda Akker, was born at the Hauge.

In November 1942 she was deported to #Auschwitz with her mother Frida. They were both murdered in a gas chamber right after the arrival selection.

Happy 75th Birthday to Chris Frantz – drummer and co-founder of both the Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club, born on May 8, 1951, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, USA.
