I care 100X more about *how* you argue and how you treat the people you disagree with than I care about what you think.

Question for any friends who are cosplay nerds: do you know what this foam is called?

It's fairly robust/solid, compared to the squishier stuff I've seen in, say, craft sheets.

The pic is from a cellphone screen-protector package; I'm interested in making a similar frame for post-it notes, but it's super hard to find names of raw materials in these modern web times.

(In gratitude, if you know I promise not to mock cosplay nerdery for 24 solid hours, which I assume would be a lifetime record.)

File under Hills I Will Die On: source-code availability does not stop this crap from being user-abusing antipatterns.
Can confirm.

In related news I'm honored to announce that the winner of the 2025 Nathan Willis Prize in Fall Container Gardening in Honor of Alfred Nobel, often called the Nobel Prize in Fall Container Gardening, is whoever designed this understated arrangement of succulents lit by color-changing LED strips next to a food cart. Congratulations anonymous!

The biggest irony here is that the link I was following was a slide presentation about how improved the brand-new GNOME web sites are.

Fun fact about the Terms and Conditions on this WiFi captive portal: neither of the places where it says "terms and conditions" links *to* the terms and conditions, nor does anything else on the portal page.

But hey I'm sure they're fine.

Screw literally everybody who ever thought this nonsense was a good idea.
