Primarily interested in all things fungi, but I will occasionally post about other aspects of nature if my curiosity is sufficiently piqued.

Some fungi spotted at Wentworth Woodhouse. The first photo depicts a dying dyad's saddle, unsure what the other two are.

A further throwback, again from 2025.

A fungi throwback to 2025:

This was possibly the largest intact dyad's saddle I have seen - and what a beauty. The intricate, feather-like scales on the top of the mushroom led to stories that the forest spirits used the feathers of pheasants to "upholster" their seats, or that the mushroom was a pheasant that had been turned into wood by a forest curse

A nice selection of turkey tail fungus growing on an equally nice bed of moss.

A young tree is slowly being killed, if it's not already dead, by honey fungus.

I think this clump of clavarioid fungi might be ramaria stricta. Spotted in Wentworth Gardens a few months ago.

I spotted this clump of what looks like Clavaria growing on the front lawn.
