I was 14 when I started with php. 22 years ago, when I build my first website. I used a book to learn #php.

I came across a website pfz.nl a former Dutch community. And started helping with their conference a few years later. My first contact with people like @Skoop, @sebastian @shochdoerfer and @mvriel and many more. All of them are friendly, willing to help.

I joined the @phpdoc project. And look at me now. I write code, used by thousands of people. #php pays my bills. #30YearsOfPHP

It is always pleasant to be right, but it is generally a much more useful thing to be wrong -- Gowers
Starting the day with adding stuff like teams and slack in my #Rambox app to make try and make it the central powerhouse app on my machine aside from #obsidian. Also to try out if I could use focus mode to help focus :D

#ObsidianMD protip: Add shortcuts to toggle the sidebars!

I love quickly hiding and showing them to gain more space for my notes, especially when working with multiple open notes (e.g., migrating weekly or monthly tasks). #pkm #notetaking

UPDATE: Bunnie is coming home, NS has found them and they should be mailed to us in the next days. Thank you all for sharing and boosting. I'm overjoyed

We lost my child's cuddly toy in the train from Amsterdam to Vlissingen 😭 They are heartbroken

EDIT: the cuddly toy is a grey bunny and their name is Bunnie, I can only imagine how scared little Bunnie is 😥

EDIT: adding an image, Bunnie was sitting in a pink backpack with children's clothes and a tablet in it

@grmpyprogrammer I tell my coworkers: never use an LLM for something you couldn't do or understand without it. It is more comparable to the auto-complete of an IDE, than as a replacement for your job (I've seen this gone wrong)

@MelvilleSpence I use ChatGPT itself; the monthly subscription version doesn't have IDE integration, but I generally use it for more tasks than just coding. To be honest, I mainly use it for documentation.

One of the things you should be aware of is that most, if not all, assisted coding solutions are limited to the currently open file or a small selection. This means it is not ripe yet for architectural support, or even knowing how to tie two services together :)

Interesting.. @Skoop got two calls by people who asked if he was "Mike Riel" (my name has an infix!) and when he said he wasn't, they immediately hung up? 🤔

Expanding on our training offering - skoop.dev

I don’t know if it matters that I’m the son of two teachers, but training is in my DNA, knowledge sharing is in my DNA. From the moment I started learning PHP based on a book and scripts I downloaded from the Internet, I’ve tried to help other people who ran into issues that I […]

@chriscoyier Ever tried doing this in C#/Unity? I miss something like prettier so badly :D
