@musicweeklies has, as their latest challenge, the theme of #BackOn. After trying, unsuccessfully, to come up with a song that *sounded* like the theme, I shifted to the theme's relevance in my life. As the small #HandChimes group I play with is getting *back on* track, I decided to take a shot at creating a song that would be playable by a group like ours, made up of mostly novice/sporadic chime ringers, with only 12 chimes.

Wake

A little bit late, but here’s my take on the @musicweeklies #BackOn theme (Getting out of sleep mode) ^^

Thought of alarm clocks and repeatedly snoozing and having trouble getting out of bed… x)

100% done on the #Woovebox

@moonrabbit When I was in mental health crisis recently, it was my music, specifically the project I was working on for @musicweeklies, that helped keep me going. I wanted to finish it, adding the bits that randomly came to me while I had nothing better to do than come up with stuff.
This is something I started about a week ago for @musicweeklies's #Fresh #composition theme. I didn't quite get it done as early as I'd hoped, but here you go. If anyone wants to use it for an instrumental bed or anything, feel free; I just ask that I be credited if you do.
@jvw @tarrenvane @musicweeklies ROFL! It does have a kind of go-getter vibe, doesn't it? I ironically composed the bridge to that, and adjusted some of the rhythms on the rest, during the part of this week when I could hardly do much of anything. Fun fact: to engrain the start of the bridge in my memory, I had to etch it into a styrofoam cup with my fingernail.
If you like eclectic music, check out my Bandcamp page: tarrenvanettinger.bandcamp.com… I'm steadily adding stuff from my old soundcloud.com/terrencevane page, as well as new content inspired by the themes from @musicweeklies. And, if you hear something you like and want a custom track in the same style, get in touch and we can make it happen.

I'm a nonbinary, autistic+ADD, blind composer, and I write pieces between spending time with my partner and working as an English teacher to help keep the lights on. I moved to Davenport in 2014, and live in a too-big duplex with my partner, our German Shepherd mix who is in training as a service dog, a crazy budgie named Peetie, and Oreo the bunny, who just wants to be left to his own devices.

I've talked about doing the @musicweeklies challenges, and I've created an album for all the compositions I've made for the themes so far. The album will be updated as more themes are tackled. I posted the entire album yesterday, but this, specifically, is the latest bit I did for the @musicweeklies challenge of this week: #Reveal. So click here to find out what this simple little melody will reveal by the end of the song: https://tarrenvanettinger.bandcamp.com/track/revelation-in-a-minor

Created this for @musicweeklies's #Dungeon challenge. I kinda see the tenor/bass section as the dark necromancers or wizards or whatever and the higher voices as more the adventurers. https://tarrenvanettinger.bandcamp.com/track/of-wizards-and-bards
