I set up a folding table in the living room to fold laundry, and I found a few towels that were in bad shape.
I put them on the couch so I could throw them all out together at the end, but once my cat saw them she decided she likes them. I mentioned I was going to throw them out, and she decided to nap on the towels to keep me from trashing them.
Well, I got back to the Dreamcast dial-up project. I verified I had everything set up and did another test call from a handset to the number I configured and yep, I'm hearing modem noises.
I tried connecting from the Dreamcast and I got "NO CARRIER" multiple times, then after a few tries the text output box started speaking in tongues. I don't know enough about the USB modem I ordered to see what it's seeing, either. I'm stumped.
These pictures are probably boring out of context, but after this whole area was empty flooring with a fridge and stove in the middle of the floor, they feel magical to me! I've got a kitchen again!!
The downside is that just out of frame is a blank wall where my chest freezer used to be, but in a few days a friend is going to help me move it from the basement. It's going to be so nice having everything back in place..!
She may go out of her way to be obnoxious sometimes, but it's moments like this that make it all worth it..!
I ordered some used cables for my homelab recently, and they shipped in a decently-sized box. I had it sitting on my couch and I didn't think much of it, then tonight my cat decided it's time to do something about this box on the couch. I have NO IDEA where she went, it's like she's invisible..!

ECW's 1996 show "The Doctor is In" opens with J.T. Smith introducing the band KISS. I was never a big fan of them and their glam rock style seems out of place, but "Rock N Roll All Nite" plays over the PA and out comes Stevie Richards, The Blue Meanie, Nova, and a fourth person I don't recognize dressed as the band!
This is so stupid and hilarious and in character for all characters involved! I love it!
