Dems MUST learn to create a “big tent” party and stop doing purity tests. No one is aligned with you 100%, but PLENTY of people are aligned with you 90%. We must band together as allies, despite our imperfections.
I always prided myself on being able to figure out complex problems. I felt I could figure out what was going on that was driving my bad behavior.
But it was like trying to debug a program in an OS I didn’t know and a language I didn’t write. I didn’t know where to start or what questions to ask. My therapist did, and it has helped so much.
Don’t be like me if you have something like this. You owe it to yourself and the people around you to get help and get better.

As another year passes, I continue to realize the complicated relationship I had with my own dad and the often shitty behaviors and thinking patterns I learned from him.
It got bad enough that I started therapy a few years ago. I’m so glad I did. I’m far from where I want to be, but I’m better than I was, and I’m a better father for it.
