@jonathansampson Excellent. Somewhere I read or heard that it didn't support any extensions. Must have been referring to an early version.
@jonathansampson good. Yes, looks similar now. But just grateful to see my sites rendering and operating fine with it. The current pluses are great. If you can reduce the RAM hit, you've got a solid reason for most everyone to drop Chrome. Only other question is about extensions. Firefox model?
@jonathansampson Gettin' Brave. Liking it so far. How does the memory footprint compare to Chrome?
@Motoma @dredmorbius Similarly, I have the same questions for someone just wanting to run their own instance for themselves (and maybe a small handful of family or friends), but still be connected to the federation.
@saper @mwlucas I'm also interested in this for #freebsd
I've been making comparisons between BBS sysops of the 80s and today's instance admins. Both invest time and money in machines and software for the joy and challenge of bringing engaging discussion to a community of people. Free BBS's and social instances share a trait: a non-commercial service operated by an individual for the benefit of others. It's refreshing to see in these new sysadmins something good I recognize from the past. (Though we are far more pet-crazy now than 30 years ago.)
@jepler @Daenyth It was not a fun day for SFO2 droplets.
@leo I think I got to know it in the biblical sense .... as I'm certain I took the lord's name in vain many times while cursing it.
@leo A series of roadside signs. Burma Shave.
