#embedded systems blah blah blah, #ARM #Linux #IoT and #Qt hacking. Farmer by day. Currently posting stuff I saved from my time in the #pinball business. Check your pin mux.

Thanks to @ourlostarcade.bsky.social I'm falling down a rabbit hole about the bumper pool craze of 1955....
One more Williams #pinball machine that was turned into a slot:
Someone on Reddit is using ChatGPT to roast different embedded groups. It's spot on.

And the Jack*Bot slot machine wasn't a huge surprise - it actually made a lot more sense than other #pinball themes repurposed by Williams into gaming devices.

Fish Tales was turned into Reel 'Em In and was a big success. They're still being made by the company that bought Williams' assets:

There was a FOURTH game in the Pin*Bot series that was never produced. Not sure why it got cancelled, but one of the artists gave me this after the shutdown. Might be the only evidence it ever existed. #pinball

Since Puerto Rico is back in the news, here's a fun piece of #pinball trivia:

Did you know Williams used to own three resorts in San Juan? WMS was trying to become an entertainment conglomerate just like Bally tried back in their heyday. The hotels were spun out in the 1996 restructuring and then Wyndham absorbed them a while later.

One more #pinball and #videogamehistory celebrity that never got a spotlight: Chuck Bleich.

Every WMS pinball circuit design from system 6 to System 11 through WPC and into Pinball 2000. All the classic video and sound boards in Defender, Robotron, Joust...

All Chuck. And now he's at Stern doing MORE hardware.

George Gomez 2024 at the Insert Coin opening next to George Gomez 1982.

"I had these photochromic glasses and the photographer's flash set them off. I really wasn't that cool!"

Sure, George. #videogamehistory

Best part of the #insertcoin opening: we all got to deface the 3401 N California plant sign.
We caught the Vid Kidz in the wild! Decades later they're still making incredible games... but Robotron will live forever. #videogamehistory
